MAN IN THE MOON (A day in the life of Bob)

Young UCAN members took at trip to the Moon recently with the help of Bob, Space Man Al and the UCAN Space Cadets. This free tactile and interactive storytelling session was held at Cardiff Central Library and specifically designed for young visually impaired children aged 5 years and over and their families. A great deal of fun was had with space slime, smelly rocks and the tactile surface of the moon, complete with craters! This project is funded the People's Health Trust, Active Communities Programme.

Norther Ballet Come to Visit

Another great event at UCAN SocialEyes at Cardiff Library! This time Keisha from Northern Ballet came to talk to our young group about audio description for dance and told us all about the new ballet Victoria. This project is funded the People's Health Trust, Active Communities Programme.

UCAN Festival at the Wales Millennium Centre.

Welcome to New Board Member

Everyone at UCAN would like to welcome our new board member Jenny Blackmore.  Jenny is a QVTI ( Teacher of Visually Impaired Children and Young People) in the Neath Port Talbot Area and played a vital part in helping us set up our regular UCAN After School Club for visually impaired children and young people in the area.

Our Storm Continues!

Having successfully delivered this project for the past 3 years we are delighted to announce that the Wales Council for the Blind and UCAN Productions partnership project, 'Ein Llis Ein Storm: Our Voice Our Storm' has been extended until 2020. 

The Storm project, which is supported by  Sustainable Social Services Grant,  will continue to work specifically with  young adults across Wales by offering the opportunity to have their voices and opinions heard. 

Congratulations go to Project Managers Megan John and Mared Jarman for making the project such a success.
