Harry Potter Orchestrator and UCAN Productions Junior Chairman work to leave a Musical Legacy

An exciting new project is in the pipeline. Disability Arts Cymru and UCAN Productions, the performance arts cooperative for blind and partially sighted young people, have teamed up to manage a project led by UCAN Productions Junior Chair of UCAN Productions Steering Committee 17 year old Lloyd Colman.

This is a “Whose Flame is it Anyway?” project led by Disability Arts Cymru and is part of Power of the Flame, funded by Legacy Trust UK and managed by the Arts Council of Wales. Legacy Trust UK is an independent charity set up to help build a cultural and sporting legacy from the 2012 Olympic Games.

This funding will enable Lloyd to work over the next three years on an orchestral commission which is to be played in 2012 as part of the celebrations for the Cultural Olympiad. Lloyds mentor for this project is Lawrence Ashmore, his distinguished career has seen him work on films such as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Mel Gibson’s biblical epic The Passion of Christ, Gosford Park and Bridget Jones Diary. Lawrence stated: ‘I am really looking forward to working with this talented young man’
